What a day...
I woke up at a stupidly early hour this morning to go to work, I arrived at 7:45am and was told that we would be offline until 11am. Better news was to come when we were told that 11am would actually be 1pm - Nearly half a day over and no work to show for it.
The Gods of work have clearly decided that my recent turbulence should come to an end and I have been given the pleasure of callbacks all week. Most people are ambivalent towards them but I love 'em - You get to cruise through a list of people and pick out which ones deserve the benefit of your knowledge. Sweet.
My e-absence is going pretty well at the moment and I have reduced my online time immensely. Due to the down-time at work I was able to sign-up for the all new Weebl and Bob forums (the link on the left has been updated) and I even posted just to let people know I was there and that all was cool. Dixi, on the other hand, decided to die on us for the evening so Jinko has been working feverishly to get them back online - he seems to have succeeded - big up bro.
Now on to a lovely saga. I should be hopelessly annoyed about this but it's impossible given the circumstances.
When I got home I started thinking about food and decided that I was either going to make a curry or a Spaghetti Bolognaise (Spag Bol) but I've had my fill of curry recently so I started to prepare my special Bolognaise sauce. I got to the point where all the ingredients had been added and everything was simmering away nicely when I suddenly remembered I didn't have any spaghetti - worse than that, I didn't have any kind of pasta in the house!! I resigned myself to Bol sandwiches and continued to cook.
Now my recipe calls for the addition of a drop of sherry just at the end to add a bit of oomph to the whole affair (I usually add it just as the spaghetti is added to the boiling water. I poured the sherry in, gave it a stir, went to lounge around on my (less than) luxurious sofa and heard a knock at the door. It was Alison who had come round to see me and drop off my rucksack. It was lovely to see her and I always enjoy listening to her travelling tales (despite the jealousy it inspires
). We caught up which was really nice but I had to take the Bol off the heat before it burned. To be honest, I was enjoying myself so much that I forgot about it.
Once Alison had gone I buttered some bread and made my first sandwich only to hear the phone ringing upstairs. I raced up to answer it and it was Lee. I''d wanted to talk to him all day because of the developments in Weebl and because he had had some exciting things happen (A new hard drive to make his PC usable and a visit from our friend Seb (Scrambled)). We chatted for a while and I told him this story but due to a slight mis-hearing I now have the recipe for "The Pol Pot Sandwich" (Bolognaise and bread).
Bedtime I think...
