Ughhhh 7:15 am!!

I suppose I'm going to have to get used to waking up around this time but it's never easy - I'm a nightowl and I don't think that'll ever change.

I took my parents to see the new house and they were impressed. My Mum is generally a touch pessimisitc at the best of times but she seemed to genuinely like the house and was quite enthusiastic about it in her way. I know this is a good sign because she dreads the thought that one of her babies (yes, she still considers us babies) will be living so far away and on his own!! My Dad was a useful asset too. He has worked in or around the building trade for the majority of his career so he was casting the surreptitious eye of experience on everything. Everything passed parental approval so now I just have to wait for the ball to start rolling.

I also managed to buy the perfect gifts for my neice and nephew. Rhiannah got a Barbie horse to go with her Horse Riding Barbie and Jack got a ball which objects can be pushed through. Whilst I don't agree with all the gender specific toy shiznit Rhiannah has a load of Barbie stuff already so I'm just joining in - carrying out orders as it were.

We had fly pretty rapidly from the house viewing to Jack's party so I didn't get chance to wrap the pressies but I don't think he's old enough to be bothered and Rhiannah already knew what she was getting so there wasn't any point. the Party was a lot better than I had anticipated. Whilst I thought it was going to be one of those kids party first and then parents party when the kids had left/gone to bed it was, in fact, quite a get together.

My brother had hired an inflatable ball pool (which to my mind was for the parents) and the Piano Room (actually a dining room but it once had a piano in it) was decked out with rubber mats and foam animals to avoid injuries. There were a good number of kids there but more importantly there were some adults I hadn't seen for ages. Dom and Claire were there with Mark and Jane and although they are really my brothers mates I enjoy their company a great deal. Jack seemed to enjoy himself and Rhiannah was in seventh heaven. Even Aleicia - famous for being frightened of me - gave me a kiss and a cuddle.

I came home with Alison which allowed my parents to relax and went, pretty much, straight to bed. I got a few hours sleep but ended up waking up at midnight. The computer was on so I had a fish around to see if anyone was about and Merkin came to my rescue!

We had a great chat and swapped a few music files. I think I'm getting hooked on Scandinavian Folk - it's like normal folk music but blonder and less sexually repressed. Merkin wasn't feeling too well but I think she was feeling a bit better when I left. I managed to get back to sleep at about 3ish so I am pretty much all sleeped out! I have something important to do today but I'm not going to play those cards until later - you'll just have to wait.
