Right (oh so right)...
The secret is out of the bag and I can return with my head held high. Sure, I've been away for a long time without going anywhere and I wouldn't be surprised if those people who read this on a regular basis have ventured elsewhere - how can you regularly read something so irregular?
So what is it that has kept me away for so long? The answer is simple and amazing - Che and myself are now an item!!
It's been a rocky road - I'm not going to lie to you - but at the end of that road there was something very special. It's early days and we are both VERY aware of that but it doesn't mean that we aren't dealing with heavy emotions. In truth both of us have been skirting around the issue for longer than we would care to admit, we have been so deep in denial about our feelings that we were in danger of being eaten by crocodiles!! As Che has said in her blog the L-word has come up relatively frequently and (I'm glad to say) not just from me
It's strange how things like this happen when you least expect them but for the first time in a long time I feel really happy, a continued happiness and not just the fleeting happiness I have been blogging about recently.
The rocky road that led us together will have to remain a mystery as there were other people involved who would probably not appreciate its retelling but I'm just going to put it down to experience and put it all behind me. There are loads of people I want to say "thank you" to. Initially we made the decision that we were only going to tell people that had a direct influence over - real 3d friends and family. There were also a few online friends that we told as both of us have online lives and to not tell them would have been stupid. The reason that we didn't want to tell people is simple - privacy! You know when you are just starting to date and people keep asking you questions and prying and it adds pressure? Well that's never a good thing and it's even worse if it comes from people you have never met (and in most cases will never meet). So we both would like to thank the following people:
