Hmmmm... Well, I got stuck on frivlously...
12 days off and back to work. It sucks and I have resolved that it WILL change. I am taking steps to sort out my life because I am sick of my own complacency. 12 days of doing nothing hasn't helped, I could have done so much more but I didn't. I haven't been entirely lazy though...
I have bought a sofa. It finally happened. The current sofa was a present but it's a nightmare. It's a sofa-bed and doesn't function well as either! It's impossible to get comfortable on it and if there is more than one person on it at a time it becomes almost nightmarish. Enough is enough so i have bitten the bullet and bought myself not just one but two sofas!! One is a large 3 seater which will probably get most attention but there is also a smaller 2 seater which is just as lovely looking but is around the same size as the current one. They are brand new and upholstered and look like the bayeaux tapestry would look if someone had spilled claret all over it. The next step is to decorate to suit and in all honesty I am looking forward to it. I bought myself a cheap drill-driver and have used it to hang Che's Christmas present and a new bathroom mirror.
There's still no sign of my camera from unbeatable and I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth the wait. It's a bit rough that I have waited in excess of two weeks for it and it isn't even in stock yet. Even taking the New Year break into account it shouldn't take this long. I've even been into Jessops in Swansea to have a look at it. To be fair it's beautiful, it has everything I want in a camera (except maybe changable lenses) and has a lovely manual focus feature - I'm getting all starry-eyed again.
Lee has left the country to be with his partner in the US and I must admit it has been a bit of a wrench. I keep seeing things on TV or on my travels that make me want to call him but then I realise I can't. Che has been great and I know that she misses him too even though she is jealous that he is in the states and she isn't. It's almost impossible for me to forget how lucky I am to be surrounded by truly great people.
I went to a friend's 40th birthday party on Friday and saw a lot of my old circle of friends, it was genuinely nice and a couple of old friendships have been rekindled (not that they were ever lost, just misplaced by my nocturnal situation). The general concensus was that I was looking happy and that that was a good-look for me to have. I am happy, that much is true, but I think that my recent make-over has helped too. Speaking of which...
I had a manicure!!! Yip, it's true! A few months ago I was discussing the pleasures of festival-life and now here I am with smooth and shiney nails. I'll be honest with this one, it was mainly my idea. I have been thinking about it for a while and, with the slightest goading for Che, I decided I would do it. I walked into the salon and ?14, a few weird looks and some interesting small talk later I was sparkly. If you haven't had it done then go and get it - I don't are whether you are male, female, straight or gay - it's amazing.
Anyway, work calls and I must answer
See ya later
