Mmmm, excellent, it would seem that I still have some readers...

Once again I have written a blog only to see it disappear into the ether so here is v2.0, lets hope it stays:

In summary: I am ill. I have been given time off work by the doctor because my nasal polyps have returned (grim) and they, in turn, make it almost impossible for people to understand what I am saying. Fortunately it's not the kind of illness that completely incapacitates you so I am using the available time to concentrate on getting a new job (which I may now need due to the ridiculous regime at work). It would seem that the sickness regime has got something of a reputation because my doctor knew what kind of problems I would encounter as a result of my absense.

I have heard from Lee in America and he seems to be fine, he's set himself up with a PS2 and is having big fun with Ray - Whilst I am sad to see him go I am also really happy for him, he may have found his niche.

Today's big new is that Che and I have taken a huge step and are currently listening to the pitter-patter of tiny feet... Really tiny feet... We bought a Hamster. We had bought the cage and wotnot a couple of days ago so that we could make sure that it was all set up ready but today we actually picked out the little fella. The way I had planned it was that Sarah would pick out the one she wanted and that would be good enough for me - I am, after all, more of a fish person than a rodent person - but it all went out of the window when I saw a beautiful dark-grey and white one scrabbling for attention. We had also planned to get a female hamster because that way you can avoid having to see outsized hamster testicles all the time - again the plan was scrapped. I think Che agreed that he was best choice and we decided on a name straight away - Frank (after Frank the Hamster from the Livi Michael books of the same name).

He's still a little too manic for us to get a good picture but the best we have is this one:

In other news: I've done it again...

After a tremendously welcome visit from Alison last night where I got to show off my new camera she asked what I was going to do with the old one - I had thought about keeping it as a handy-cam because the new one is a bit pro and, therefore, bloody huge. The big problem with that is that the old one is also on the bulky side and couldn't really be described as "handy" at all. The solution to this: I bought myself a cheap clicky. It's not brilliant but it does get good reviews for a camera of it's class and it is small and light enough to fit into a pocket so I can take snaps wherever I go. The old one will now be put up for sale or auction. The new one is an Olympus C350 3.2 Mega Pixel (for those that care) which I got at a rock-bottom price because it was an ex-demo model. It has never been used but the box was a bit tatty.

That's all for now but I will be back with more later
