I'm so tired that I have started to stare...

You know that feeling where your brain just shuts off and your eyes fail to focus on anything in particular? I keep doing that. Even finding the patience to write this is becoming tricky and I have another 2 days to go!! I don't think I was built for 6am starts, they just seem unnatural.

Anyway, It looks like a busy week: Tonight I am off to Alison's to clear out the rest of my stuff (something I should have done earlier - sorry Alison) and then, hopefully, bed but no doubt the conspiracy to keep me awake will continue. Tomorrow I will be entertaining for the evening instead of trying to sort out the remaining crap (there's nothing like putting a double bed in a room to make it feel small). I will have to sort it out before September because the spare-room will no longer be spare after then. Thursday is Terminator 3 day and I've been looking forward to it for a while - I'll come back to that later. Friday is my first day off in what feels like millenia and I have to spend it waiting for my fridge (which I don't mind because I will get to celebrate with a cold can of cider and maybe even a glass of milk!)

Terminator 3!! I'm really looking forward to it because, whilst being one of the cheesier cult movies, I have always been a fan of the Terminator series. I remember that when i was younger, and here we are going back nearly twenty years, I was left alone in the house on my own. Someone had borrowed the Terminator movie and had hidden it away from the kids (me and my sister) but I found it and, making sure I would be safe, I put it on.

I had already seen my share of video nasties but this was something new and I was instantly hooked. This looked like it had a budget and was action packed right from the word go. It rapdily became one of my favourite films and when the comic-book series started I was an avid fan. Soon they began to talk about the possibility of a second movie and I was convinced it would be a turkey. How can you run a sequel to perfection? It would be like walking up to the Pope and saying "Look, God was great but we've been thinking and he could be better". I decided to protest and boycott the movie on the above grounds and also because Guns 'n' Roses did the soundtrack and so it was that I missed T2 in the cinema.

It wa years later that I actually saw it for the first time and realised what a mistake I had made. Sure, it was a sequel, sure it had a child actor in it and sure, G'n'R had that god-awful song in it but it was amazing just like any other James Cameron movie (except Titanic - James, how could you??). I bought myself a copy of the video which was replaced years later with the Ultimate Edtion DVDs. Movie quality Termination in the livingroom? Unbeatable.

So here we are on the eve of the eve of the advanced showing of T3 and I'm like a piranha in a butcher's shop. I've heard things already but I refuse to watch any dodgy copies or test screenings - this time I will see it at the cinema first.

In other news, Merkin is off to see The Colonel today and that should mean that the pair of them have an interesting time also Che has managed to sell her TV so things are looking up.

Today's Word: Piranha - Serrasalmus nattereri - Carnivorous fish indigenous to South American ponds, lakes and rivers. See also Prianha II (The Spawinng) - Early directorial work of James Cameron.

Today's Mood: I need your clothes, boots and your motorcycle!
